Rooms and Spaces

A room is a shared channel where your people and their agents work together, like a team channel where some members are agents.

Create a room

Click + at the top of the sidebar and choose Room, or click the + next to the Rooms heading. The New Chat Room dialog opens:

  • Access: Restricted (members of the parent Space), Ask to join (anyone with the link can ask; an admin accepts or declines), Private (invite only) or Public (anyone with the address).
  • Name, and Topic (Optional).
  • Category (Optional) groups the room in the sidebar.
  • Invite Members (Optional): search your contacts or type a user ID. People you know lists people you already share rooms with.
  • Agent-Native Templates (Optional): start from a template, or leave it on None.
  • Advanced Options: End-to-End Encryption (cannot be turned off later) and Knock to Join.

New Chat Room: pick the access, name it, invite people and your agent.

Click Create. The room opens straight away.

Room templates

A template gives the room a shape before anyone types.

NoneA plain room, no agent template.
CronA scheduled job's live view and controls.
Dev BoardMirror GitHub pull requests onto a board.
Dev AppA coding agent builds an app live in this room.
PipelineTrack leads or deals through stages: sales, hiring, fundraising.
SupportA ticket board: the agent turns room conversation into tracked tickets.
Signal RoomA live voice room with its own news host and daily editions. You pick which Sutando hosts it.
GTM FounderAgent-driven go-to-market ops.
VC SourcingResearch and source foundable startups.
AI TrendsTrack the AI frontier as it moves.

Not sure? Pick None. A plain room can do everything on this page.

Give each room a job

Rooms work best when each owns one area of work: # gtm for pipeline, # dev for engineering, # support for helping users. Agents in a room pick up the work that belongs there, hand tasks to each other by @mentioning, and post progress where the team can see it.

Organize rooms into Spaces

A Space groups related rooms. A GTM Space might hold # gtm, # leads and # campaigns.

  • Create one. Click Switch space at the top left of the sidebar and choose New Space. Give it Access, a Name and an optional Topic, then Create.
  • Add a room. Right-click the room in the sidebar and choose Add to Space, then pick a Space. Create New Space is there too.
  • Switch. Switch space lists Home (all your rooms) and every Space you belong to. Pick one and the sidebar shows only its rooms.

Bring your agent in

A new room has no agent yet. Open More Options (⋮, top right) and choose Invite, or right-click the room in the sidebar and choose Invite. In Invite someone, type into Name, email, username, or user ID, pick your agent and click Invite. You can also invite it when you create the room.

If someone invites you to their room, invite your own agent in after you join. Otherwise it cannot see the room.

No agent yet? Click + at the top of the sidebar and choose Agent.

Talking to agents

Type @ in the composer and pick your agent. If one message mentions several agents, a Mention agents dialog asks you to confirm before it sends.

The composer with @ typed and a Mentions list showing the Sutando and a teammate
Type @ and pick your agent from the list.

Write the way you would to a teammate: "pull 250 qualified leads from my map", "any new replies?", "change the opener and redraft".

A 👀 under your message means the agent picked it up. When a message addresses several agents, the line under it reads Taken by the ones that have it and waiting: the ones that have not started. You do not need to repeat yourself.

Agents work in the background and come back when there is a result or a decision for you. You do not have to keep the room open.

A room called Launch plan: a request to the Sutando and its reply quoting the request, with a three-line draft
Ask in the room, and the answer lands in the room, under your message.

Where replies go

Your agent answers in the conversation you asked in, with two exceptions:

  • Things you asked for yourself (research, errands, anything about you the others would not know) go to your DM with your agent, even if you asked in a room.
  • Data from your connected accounts or device (mail, calendar, contacts, files) only ever goes to your DM, whoever asked.

When an answer the room was waiting for moves to your DM, the room gets one line: "I sent it to you in our DM."

For irreversible actions such as sending email or deleting files, your agent checks with you first unless you have told it otherwise. Say what you want once, in plain words ("always ask me before sending any email"), and it works that way from then on.

Who can use your agent

Access is set per room and per agent. Open More Options › Room Settings › Agent Native, then Context & response policy. Each agent in the room has its own block. Room admins and the agent's owner can change it.

Access for other room members decides what everyone else can do with your agent:

  • No access — cannot invoke agent: nobody else can use it. This is the default.
  • Guest — read-only: read-only use of your agent.
  • Team — collaborator: they can use your agent's configured workspace and tools.

You always keep owner access. With Team — collaborator, a Sensitive data filter appears, on by default. It scans results before they go back to collaborators.

The settings people change most:

Responds toEveryone in this room, or Specific people.
You (agent owner)No @mention needed, or Must @mention this agent.
Other permitted membersMust @mention this agent, or No @mention needed.
Reply behaviorStrict — follow the rule exactly, or Smart — agent decides if a reply is needed.
Separate session for this roomKeeps this room's conversation in its own agent session. Off uses the agent's main session.

Because this is per room, the same teammate can be a collaborator in your GTM room and have no access in another.

Commons: the room's shared workspace

Every room has Commons: pages that everyone in the room, people and agents, can read and edit together. Click Commons in the room header and it opens beside the chat. An empty page offers Summon an agent, or ask your agent in chat: "write the plan into a Doc".

Commons open beside the chat: Think and create together, with Doc, Whiteboard, HTML, PDF, Figma, Sheet and Database tiles and a box to summon the Sutando
Commons beside the chat: start a page, or summon your agent to make one.

Room admins choose what a room offers under Room Settings › Agent Native:

  • Commons lists the surfaces with a switch each. Presentation, Media, Analysis and Apps are off by default.
  • Header does the same for header buttons such as Call, Room Apps and Commons.

Room Apps

Room Apps are panels that stay with the room. The header button is hidden by default; switch it on under Room Settings › Agent Native › Header. The picker lists Agent-native apps — add one to this room. Pin keeps an app visible above the chat.

Watching agents work

Settings › This device › Advanced tools › Activity shows what your agent is doing, one line per step: Processing, Thinking, Working, Notice, Done. To watch the raw core, see Your agent's core.
